In a recent announcement, HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) introduced HPE Flexible Capacity. Flexible Capacity is, as promoted, “an infrastructure service offering on-demand capacity that combines the agility and economics of the public cloud and the security and performance of on-premises IT.” UCX believes every Cloud Service Provider should follow the example set by HPE and offer services in a more efficient manner. Real-time allocation of resources is the necessary solution for the elimination of waste in compute capital expenses. Many startups and small businesses will continue to migrate to the cloud. Enterprises will find success in a slow but steady move from on-premises infrastructures. Hybrid ecosystems of data, software, and infrastructure will be the reality for most established organizations. The buying and selling of such services in a structured, independent, central price discovery mechanism is the mission of UCX.
After the internet of information, we are witnessing both the creation of the internet of services and things. The next progression along this evolutionary dialectic will be the creation of the internet of value and ownership. The next few years will see new startups finish the last missing piece in making digital ecosystems complete. In such scenarios, UCX is be prepared to play an important role to match demand and supply in highly specialized value chains.
